'The Wares' dropped to a first defeat of the season in this early Bank Holiday Monday kick off

Both teams began the match playing at a rather pedestrian pace, perhaps a reaction to kicking off before noon.

On 22 minutes Edgware were awarded a penalty which Theo Ofori dispatched for 1-0.

'The Sarnies' restored parity on 40 minutes, Radu Stefanoaica's shot evading Michael Angzu in the 'Wares' goal following good build up play.

Edgware almost fell behind just before half time, a well struck shot cannoned off the bar greatfully ending up in the arms of Angzu.

Egham's winner came in the 66th minute, a ball over the top of the 'Wares' defence fell to Daniel Campion racing onto a one on one with Angzu, with the 'Wares' keeper coming off second best to put the Surrey side 2-1 up.

With results elsewhere, Edgware drop from 2nd to 6th but just 3pts off the leaders St Panteleimon and with a game in hand on some of the teams above.
