FA Cup Extra - Preliminary Round

Edgware Town (0) 0 - Hadley(0) 3

Three second half Hadley goals decided today's FA Cup Extra Preliminary - Round tie at Silver Jubilee Park Stadium

'The Wares' fielding TEN debutants put in a impressive first half performance that bellied their short time spent together.

On the basis of the first half Edgware were the better team with Perry Price coming close, his effort a result of a quick counter attack.

Hafid Bounyafe had a shot saved following a neat short corner from the right.

Mo Kahdum had a big opportunity to put Edgware ahead but blazed his effort over the bar.

At the other end, Yannick Bitsindou cleared a shot destined for the goal off the line, and 'Wares' keeper Michael Angzu saved a one on one with Offori.

At half time with the game scoreless, Neutrals would have had trouble differentiating just which was the team who had reached the last 32 of the FA Vase last season, and which was the team assembled last month.

Three substitutions
at half time swung
the game in favour of the visitors, a sign of Edgware's superiority during the first period.

The changes bore fruit as Hadley began to dictate the play and on 55 minutes Yemi Buraimoh gave 'The Bricks' the lead with a long range drive.

Edgware had a great opportunity to get back level, Novell Bruce hitting the post, Kahdum unable to direct the follow up towards goal.

A somewhat fortuitous second goal for Hadley on 71 minutes, Anwar scoring from a rebound after the ball had hit the post.

With the game getting away from Edgware, a penalty was conceded by 'Wares' Liam Magwood,
Hadley's Baird, converting from the spot.

Despite the disappointment of a early exit, 'The Wares' can rightly hold their heads up and feel proud to have put in such a credible performance against established opposition.
