This was a very even match in terms of possession but the wares had more attempts on goal, the better chances and could have taken all 3 points.

From minute one where Page hadn’t connected properly to go 1 up the Wares set the tone. A minute later Arlesey go up the other end and have a shot themselves. Arlesey commanded the first 20 minutes and in fact in the 20th minute the number 11 bombed down their left hand side got into the box and fired a shot that deflected off the oncoming Siddall and fortunately found the back of the net 0-1. The rest of the half belonged to the Wares and in the 30th minute Page cut a ball back for Ofori to calmly side foot the ball past the keeper 1-1. 3 minutes later a cleared ball from a corner is brought down smartly by McCluskey who’s next move was to send the oncoming defender the wrong way to then strike a thundering ball in to the opposite top corner 2-1.

HT: 2-1

The first real bit of action happened in the 51st minute when Arlesey had an attempt at goal and then in the 58th an uncleared ball was pounced on around the goal line and poked home 2-2. On 65 the Wares make their only substitution of the game as Issa came on for the debutant Holland. Arlesey make their first of 3 substitution moments later. ON 71 the referee decides to caution Beech for what seemed a perfectly good tackle. The Wares dominated the last phase of the game not withstanding Burgess picking up a caution there were several other opportunities to collect all 3 points with Azab, Burgess, Page and Carruthers all having attempts.

FT: 2-2
