A strongly contested game with some feisty moments on a difficult, heavy and uneven pitch. This game saw 2 wins in row giving them a further boost of confidence. The Wares manage 14 attempts at goal with 9 on target compared with Leverstock’s 5 from 11 with most coming form outside the area for both teams but the Wares got closer to their target overall. Benavides and Page making the difference.

Edgware started the stronger and within 10 minutes had already posted 2 attempts at goal with McGleish and Robinson making contributions. Levi tried to get back in the game but the Wares pushed forward. For a further 15 minutes the Wares dominate and produce a further 2 attempts at goal from both Page and Taylor. In the 28th minute Benavides operating from the left hand side receives a ball, waits for it to settle slightly and strikes the ball firmly only to see it being cleared off the line in a last ditch attempt. However, the ball is only cleared back to his feet where he side steps another on coming defender to smash the ball into the top right hand corner 0-1. Levi again try to get back into the game when in the 38th minute Page latches on to the ball strides past his defenders and hits the ball that manages to clip the keeper on the way in as a result of it’s power 0-2. That didn’t really seem to deflate the opposition in fact they were spared on with their number 11 getting 2 attempts at goal in before the end of the first half.

HT: 0-2

Larger parts of the game were dominated by the Wares in the first 20 minutes of the second half and in the 67th minutes Leverstock make a double substitution to try and pull the game around. This does seem to make some difference and in the 71st the Wares make some changes of their own with McGleish coming off for Harsini. The game gets heated and several cautions are handed out liberally. The game remains heated and the 77th Levi make a further substitution and 3 minutes later Amoah comes on for Benavides. The game continues to ebb and flow and momentum changes hands at a regular pace. A third and final substitution is made in the 87th that sees Flannery come on for the hard working Carruthers. The game is still hard fought but the Wares finish the game comfortably.

FT: 0-2
