A fairly even game overall and with the amount of chances going to both teams all 3 results were possible but unfortunately the Wares ended up with the worst possible option. Both teams had 4 shots on target. The Wares had 8 attempts in the in the second half with 6 o target compared with Vale’s 5 and 2 on target. The Wares look the more technical side but Aylesbury looked speedier and sharper to the ball.

It tool only 2 minutes for the Wares to get going with Harsini making his mark in with a shot from a difficult angle. The next bit of goal mouth action came in the 17th with Benavides putting in a tame attempt easily collected by the keeper. Shots were taken in both the 21st and 23rd minute by Shirley- Clarke seed by the keeper and Pett blocks out by an opponent respectively. A minute laster Pett was biked for a cynical tackle. Vale have a small period of possession until in the 26th minutes confusion reigns where all players stopped for what looked like a severe injury and the only one who didn’t wait for the whistle was the Vale number 3 who smashed it into the top corner 0-1.

HT: 0-1

The wares fight back and start well for the second half and within 3 minutes on the clock McCluskey forages forward to receive an assist form Pett who slides him the ball across the box for him to slot home low into the bottom corner 1-1. The first substations came in the 53rd minute that saw Amoah replace Harsini. A minute later Pett goes for goal but goes wide. It took a while for anyone to get hold of the game in the following minutes but on the 63rd McCluskey tries his luck once more but goes straight to the keeper. A second substation for the Wares came in the 67th minute when Ofori replaced Benavides. Vale score their second in the 74th with a free kick to the near post met by the Vale number 8 headed into the top corner 1-2. The Wares make their final substation in the 78th that saw Burgess on for Carruthers. Beech gets a very harsh caution trying to stop himself clattering into his opponent in the 84th. The Wares pick up the pace and try and get an equaliser but the game was stretched and both teams have opportunities each before the final whistle goes.

FT: 1-2
