Fresh from Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Colney Heath, Edgware were back yet again at Silver Jubilee Park to face a strong Hadley side. A poor game in truth, as both sides cancelled each other out in a match which was mainly defined by its high intensity and lack of chances.

Greg didn’t have many shots to save on Tuesday night despite the amount of shots Colney had but was tested from the off against Hadley when they broke clean through on goal only for him to gather well. The game lacked any real intensity from there, emphasised by very few chances being created by either side. The Ware’s first really threatened the Hadley goal almost unintentionally when Steven Benavides fizzed in a freekick, which wasn’t too far from finding itself in the top corner. Chances may not have really come in the half however, there was some drama when Mark was booked for an off the ball incident.

HT: 0-0

The basis of the second half appeared from the first few minutes of action to be similar to that of the first with no team taking proper control of the game. With 20 minutes to go, Edgware finally had their first chance of the half. Will burst down the right wing, cutting in on his left, with his effort calmly saved by the keeper. Hadley had their own chance about 10 minutes later, with their effort just going over the bar. A fun fact from the game was the combined age of the Ware’s substitutes that added to over 120 years from just 3 of them!

The game ended with both sides sharing the points in a tight game.
