A tough game. While the game ebbed and flowed the Wares never really had a lot of momentum.

The game stated rather slowly and the first 20 minutes was pretty even but the Wares looked slightly more dangerous. The first shot at goal came in the 21st minute that forced Alfie Bonfield into an excellent save to keep the Wares in the game but to no real avail as Holmer Geens’s next move landed the ball in the back of the net 0-1. However, in a strange twist of fate the save became significant again as a mad 2 minutes also saw Lolu equalise 1-1. Holmer with most the possession but the Wares with 3 attempts at goal on the counter before Holmer made it 1-2. Alfie Bonfield’s heroics continued to keep the Wares in the game with another great save before the end of the first half and a straight red for Fergus Moore for a debatable challenge.

HT - 1–2

2 half time subs were Tyrone Mulholland and Luke Durnin for Martin Flannery and Christian Londono. With Holmer also making a substitution the Wares made the impact with a great start and in the 52nd minute Lolu caught his brace with a spectacular overhead kick from outside the box catching the keeper well off his line 2-2. Rio Beech picked up a caution in the 52nd minute. From then on Holmer controlled the game with Alfie Bonfield pulling off another excellent save in the 70th minute. Steven Benavides made way for Mikkel James in the 74th minute. Holmer continued with the pressure and the possession the Wares counter attacking and threatening Holmer’s momentum. Great organisation with a man down saw the game finish even.

FT - 2-2
