An excellent result even if the scoreline flattered us slightly

The game had hardly started and in the first action of the game the Wares scored with a delightful move down the lefthand side for Dan Pett to finish off with grace down low to the keepers righthand side 1-0. Crawley then took the game by the scruff and had several opportunities which kept stand in keeper Gregory Marsh busy but in the 9th minutes a communications error allowed the Crawley striker to pass the ball into an empty net 1-1. Crawley continued to make the better chances despite a level amount of possession between the 2 sides and the Wares playing the better football. Just before the half hour mark both Ethan Mooney and Steven Benavides have attempts at goal and Perry Aitchision picks up a caution. Both Ryan Carruthers and Steven Benavides have other chances leading to the break before Dan Pett turns up in the correct place to make it 2-1.

HT - 2–1

Crawley started the second half as they did in the first with several attempts at goal forcing Greg Marsh into another couple of saves to keep the Wares ahead. 10 minutes in and the Wares take back control. Alfie Hill, Steven Benavides and Ethan Mooney all having a go at goal. The game ebbed and flowed for a bit as Crawley pick up a caution and then on 69 minutes Reon Thomas came on for Ryan Carruthers before Ethan Mooney works a bit of magic and slips a ball through to Lolu to hit a thunderous strike into the top corner 3-1. Crawley make a double substitution, pile bodies forward but to no avail. Rio Beech and Steven Benavides both have attempts at goal before Steven Benavides makes way for Hani Berchiche on 83 minutes. One minute into injury time the Wares counter attack and the ball is struck home by Sam Addae making a rare foray forward 4-1.
