A very winnable game that was determined by an individually well taken goal by London Colney coming from a ball that nonetheless less should have been easily cleared fractions earlier. The game was then chased only to be undone by a counter attack that was halted in mid flow only to be allowed to continue when keeping the opposition onside.

The first half pretty much started with an injury to Manitou a key player in mid field. On the 5th minute Manitou was replaced by James and a reshuffle of formation from a 4-2-3-1 to a 4-4-2. Other than this unfortunate incident, the first 15 minutes was all self-inflicted. The Wares then grew into the game and LC operated more in a counter attacking fashion. As the Wares were building up pressure a break away ball caused some concern but players got back only to catastrophically fail to clear a ball that was brought down and volleyed past Davies and into the back of the net 1-0. The rest of the half continued in the same vein.

HT - 0-1

The Wares were slow to start the second half but again grew into the game. LC made an early sub without any real change to the game. On the 56th minute the Wares played a ball down the left hand side to Hill who carried the ball into the final third and whipped in and excellent ball to meet the head of James who headed home for 1-1. The Wares continued to dominate and create chances. On the 74th minutes James received a caution for blocking a player starting a counter attacked to relieve some pressure and help the Wares continue to win the ball back and continue pressurising. Some great final third play however didn’t lead to any concrete outcomes. In the 80th Thomas come on for Caruthers. Within minutes of the final whistle and against the run of play the LC striker was played on side and took his chance well 2-1. The Wares changed their formation to 3 at the back but without success.
