Despite the scoreline the game was relatively comfortably. This was a deserved 3 points to set the team up in strong mid table position. The Wares shaded possession in the first half and were naturally absorbing a bit more pressure in the second.

The Wares started the brighter side and for the first 20 or so minutes dominated possession without any real penetration. In fact it wasn’t until 20 minutes before a first shot at goal come but this came from London Tigers in a counter attack. The shot was taken in a central area from just inside the box low to Bonfield’s right for him to get down well to. The Wares continued to dominate and several fouls were committed by the away side showing their frustration. On 25 minutes a corner came in from the right hand side for Manitou to climb well and head the ball home 1-0. The rest of the first half was played in much the same way with the Wares keeping possession and London limited to counter attack.

HT -1-0

There was a change at half time with James going off for Thomas. The second half started well for the Wares but London Tigers grew into the game. Within the first 15 minutes it was fairly even perhaps the Wares shading slightly. On 60 minutes Durnin came off for Rivet and it was little more even up until the 75th minute before the away side realised it was now or never for them and started to force the game. In a little spell of reversed tactics there were a couple of chances falling to both sides as London Tigers tried to penetrate and the Wares countered. Following a bizarre yellow card for Bonfield after swearing at his own players a further substitution in the 82nd minute was made, Carruthers on for Gbo. The last 10 minutes were played out with an unsuccessful away side trying to grab a last minute equaliser.
